Biography
Kirkland Lake. Belize. Huntsville. The North never left me.
Louisa has lived in Huntsville for three years. She brings a new perspective and no inherited political allegiances.
Twenty-three years ago she started a business as a single mother of three. That company, AVI Media, is still here, a Huntsville agency. In 2025 AVI Media received a Gold Stevie Award for Most Resilient Woman-Owned Business. The campaign site also notes Gold and Silver Stevie Awards, 2025.
For ten years in Belize she ran a coffee shop, a 60-acre farm, and an animal sanctuary. She later served as treasurer of SAGA Humane Society.
She did not set out to run for council. She filed because residents in Huntsville and Chaffey wanted more choice and a voice focused on them.
Healthy local democracy works best when voters have real alternatives, and I'm grateful for the chance to offer one.
My role as your Ward Councillor will not be to impose my opinions. It will be to carry yours.
Platform at a glance
Same goals. A clearer Town plan.
Affordability and the next generation only count if Council can vote on them.
Where we can agree
- Housing local workers can pay for
- Roads and fire that keep up
- Decisions that last more than one term
On the table
01
Affordable Housing Pockets
3 to 4 modest homes on one Chaffey property.
Shared well and septic. Local occupancy first.
Town does not own a new water plant.
Prove one pilot. Copy what works.
02
Named Chaffey infrastructure
Finish Chaffey Township Road sidewalks and safer school walking routes.
Keep Ravenscliffe and Waseosa on the safety list.
Rewrite the Fire Master Plan for rural wait times.
03
Be realistic about the rest
Doctors and hospitals are not Town services.
Council can house the workers and advocate to District and Queen's Park.
Jobs come from a workable town, not a campaign slogan.
Listen first. Vote on what Council controls. Advocate clearly for the rest.
This seat explained
